Torrey Lauer

Biography

I have been a resident of Menomonee Falls and Germantown for the majority of my life. I grew up in a rural area of Menomonee Falls on 15 acres of farmland. I graduated from Menomonee Falls High School, and after graduation, I worked for several large corporations. These large companies offered great benefits including affordable healthcare.

Now, as a small business owner, it is impossible to get affordable health insurance. Growing up, I remember my parents had similar problems with health insurance. My parents owned several businesses and worked 50 to 70 hours per week. My grandparents were farmers and tended the fields on our farm. My parents had discussions that they wanted to offer health insurance to their employees, but they couldn’t afford it. Today, they offer health insurance to their employees, but the costs are so high, most of them cannot afford it.

The one thing that hasn’t changed in 20 years is the difficulty of finding affordable health insurance. I want to make health insurance more affordable so families can stop worrying when they become sick.

I want to work to reduce class sizes so children get a better education by having more one-on-one time with their teachers.

I will also work to close tax loopholes that large corporations use to funnel hundreds of millions of dollars out of Wisconsin every year. You and I pay our taxes. They should too.

I want to help Wisconsin. I ask for your vote September 9th in the Primary and on November 4th for the general election.

Together, we can make change happen.
